Digital Photography Secrets for Better Digital Photography

Pictures Are Priceless

by Digital Photo Bug on

Why go to all the trouble to buy a digital camera? Why learn digital photography? Just what's so great about digital photography?

Well, besides the fact digital photography is a really great hobby, pictures are truly worth a thousand words. They’re a great way to capture memories, both for yourself and to share with others.

Picture Perfect

A picture can be a work or art, whether taken by a professional or a hobbyist. Sometimes it’s a breathtaking view, other times it’s the person’s emotion that was captured on film. It’s a little slice of life that speaks to the viewers.

With a digital camera, you gain some of the advantages a professional photographer had. With traditional cameras, they took rolls and rolls of film to get just a few good shots, but the hobbyist usually had to be a little more circumspect since they had to pay to have all that film developed and printed.

Now you have the option of taking lots and lots of pictures like the professionals do. You can keep trying until you get just the one you want. You can check out pictures on the digital LCD to see how they look, and if they aren’t just quite what you wanted, try again while you still have the opportunity.

All those extra pictures don’t cost a thing, because the ones that aren’t so good you can just delete. It gives you a much greater chance of getting a professional quality photograph.

It’s Personal!

The pictures you take have something to say about you. What interests you enough to take a picture of it? Sometimes it’s just a random shot, but it still means a lot to the photographer because of the subject matter – maybe of someone they care about, maybe a memory of somewhere they’ve been.

The same picture can mean different things to different people, evoking a different emotional response. The best photographs bring about a strong response, whether it’s a pleasant memory, humor, horror or whatever.

Just enjoy taking your pictures, delete the not so good ones, and every day your photography skills will get better and better.
