How To Make A Flexible Camera Mount
This digital photo tip is about making your own flexible mount for easy digital cameras. These little cameras can benefit from being held steady by a mount or tripod sometimes. And as the photographer, it's also nice to have hands-free operation at times.
This is a very simple mount to make, with few pieces to buy, and easy to put together. It works quite nicely on today's thin digital cameras, such as the Casio Exilim EX-S200 Slim Design Digital Camera shown to the above left of this post.
Now, obviously you could buy a ready made flexible camera mount, like the Joby Gorillapod for Compact Digital Cameras and Mini Video Cameras, which runs about $25.00. And they're pretty nifty too.
Just the same, this is a neat solution. It's quick, it's easy, and it's inexpensive.
You can use it for any kind of inexpensive digital cameras, whether you're into still photography or taking videos.
To find out how to make one, all you have to do is watch the video below. The guy explains the materials needed, and what little you have to do to get the mount ready.
The maker of the video says, "This outfit works really well to clip on the handrail of a shopping cart at stores, supermarkets, etc. and then you have a tracking dolly to make some smooth rolling videos. i've clipped this on my bicycle and used the bike as a tracking dolly also. Actually anything that rolls smoothly is good to use (wheelchairs work very well too)."
It really is a clever idea for use with inexpensive digital cameras!
